Pressing “a” with a music file or directory highlighted adds them to the playlist. Opening a new terminal window and using the mocp command starts a new client that automatically connects to the background process, letting you regain control of it. That means you can close the MOC client-and the terminal window-and MOC will continue to play music in the background. Pressing lowercase “q” closes the MOC client but leaves the back end running. Uppercase “Q” closes MOC and stops playback. Pressing “Alt” with a number key from 1 to 9 sets the volume to 10%, 20% up to 90%. For fine control, “” adjust the volume in steps of 1%.
